Cosmos Cadets

January 31 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST

Free

Calling all space explorers! You are invited to join the interstellar ranks of the Cosmos Cadets with Mr. Blake and first science officer, Dr. KitKat. Cosmos Cadets is a new STEM program with a focus on astronomy, the solar system, and space exploration history for kids. Building up to the eclipse in April, January’s Cosmos Cadets program will be an exploration of the Moon and its role in our night sky. Prepare for a tour of Galileo’s drawings of the lunar surface (seen through his invention of the telescope), take home lunar phase calendar and starmap crafts (usable for real stargazing), explore NASA photographs and videos, and participate in experiments and future planetarium events. The final frontier awaits, Cadets! For grades 1-4.Registration is required. Attendance earns a pair of solar eclipse glasses for an attending child. A child is only eligible for ONE pair of solar eclipse glasses total—regardless of how many programs that child attends. Supplies are limited, so we cannot provide glasses for an entire family, only children who attend a qualifying program.
